SOURCES: TROIKA2 SET TO REJECT SYRIZA PROPOSALS

I looked across the entire spectrum of UK press titles and US business on Tuesday in relation to business in general and Greece in particular. It was all, variously, one or more of propaganda, dissembling, sloppy, badly-informed, hopelessly wishful and inhumanly unthinking. All the work of proprietor bumboys, ideologues, drunks, 2nd rate minds and smear-merchants: Tsipras caught on camera at anti G8 demo in 2002 (when he was 26), invented crap about Greek proposals that arrived late and in the wrong format, yet more repetitions of this EU myth called Grexit….out and out it comes, this vomit from those who don’t have the stomach for reality or a brain for designed for discernment of the truth.
‘Information’ on offer about the eurogroupe/EC v Syriza 15-rounder makes one

loathe to comment on much because everything is wheels within enigmas inside spirals and black holes. But very late last night I got a final confirmation of something I’d been chasing for 48 hours, so I offer it to you now as an informed opinion: Troika2 (Schäuble/Draghi, the IMF and Count Dijesslbleom of Eurogroupe) are going to reject the Athens proposals.  NB I don’t include Juncker in that conclusion – even though I remain sure that he enjoys the confidence of German Chancellor – because to me he has become a slightly more depraved and considerably more inebriated version of Sepp Blatter. Indeed, large parts of me would be happy to rename the EU as FIFA…F**king Insufferable Footloose Arseholes.
Piecing the last 72 hours together, this is my best shot:
The eurogroupe were caught on the hop by how much Syriza had caved…so they smeared the Greeks to waste time, and went off to think of things they could find wrong with the new poposals. Hence the phantom eurogroupe meeting on Monday. Read Dijesslbleom’s pathetic responses as to why it never happened.
Syriza knew this outcome was likely – thus we see Tsipras leaking comments to colleagues this morning about contrived objections, and “sectional interests” in Greece being served. But sources close to the Right and Centre of the Syriza Coalition suggest that an outright rejection of the proposal was not expected by the Party leadership….yet this now seems a near-certainty.
I was reminded last night of what Tim Geithner told close confidantes following his attendance at the Polish EU summit: “The EU” he asserted, “is going to beat Greece to death with baseball bats”.
Al Capone meted out the same treatment to a Mob rival in the summer of 1930. By 1931 he’d been convicted of tax evasion, and later died of untreated syphillis. I think the parallel is clear enough: you can beat the crap out of somebody, but once dead they can’t sell your deal for you – however much you might humiliate them.
Troika2 is going to demand more, but Syriza – if it wants to survive as a political force – has nothing more to offer. The EU has a creeping disease: it is doomed, but it can’ t kill Greece.

  1. The whole debate over this VAT or that VAT or this or that cut is irrelevant and designed to hide the real issue. No deal Syriza makes will either be any use or (important in the short term) pass the Greek Parliament unless there is debt re-scheduling (itself a climb-down from relief) and the offer of investment in Greece (made but not recorded) is included. Why sign up for more years of equal austerity if there is not something helpful in return. The Troika know this. They don’t want a deal. Tsipras would like a deal but cannot agree until it is a full package.

  2. !. Greece, as a nation state, is bankrupt. 2. It needs to repudiate all of its sovereign debt. 3. It needs a new, market priced, currency(think, a devaluation of 40 percent). 4.Short term chaos. 5. Massive currency INFLOWS to buy Greek assets and invest in Greek business which has a currency advantage.

  3. … a government [previous ND-PASOK] official speaks publicly about interests that actually the Troika serves. Specifically, Michalis Papadopoulos, Deputy Transport Minister said among other things:

“The troika has certain obsessions that are groundless and are part of the way of thinking created by its technical teams,” he told Athens 984 radio station. “They are like a corner shop, where everyone who passes leaves something and then the troika picks up on it and says: “Ah, yes! You have to do this as well”.”

“There are institutional bodies, Greek and foreign, who pass by the troika and say: “Do this as well”,” said the deputy minister. “The troika has adopted a way of thinking that involves them serving particular interests.”

Yup. That’s German creativity for you.

When I – a UK/US bloke put forth Brilliant Idea Number One, I can hear EU/German wife’s brain whirring “That is ein schlecht idee weill…..”

Take your foot off the irony pedal: the Greeks have more backbone than any German or Brit lardarse I’ve ever met. It’s their f***ing useless political élites that don’t. And think on this: Syriza at least has its own plan: all Smarmarse and Veryzealous ever had was open legs.

  9. Shall say this once … will be proved right in the end. The Greek people are stupid, walk, declare odious debt and side with Russia who are aligned to China and India. you cannot go wrong.Everyone will go cheats! Bullshit, unless Greece can CTRL-P like Japan it cannot pay the odious debt EVER.

Even then it will not end because the Greek issue is an issue just like Japan for the whole of humanity. This is the resolving of a fundamental issue deferred by the elites to preserve their power and wealth. Efficiency in producing, say a kettle is to remove man hours on the grounds you remove any part of the kettle it is not a kettle anymore. That is every man made item!

Not one advanced nation can support itself if it employs the efficiency savings possible today. Since the Greek economy suffered a forced contraction these last 5 years they can only regrow if they manage to compete with China on cost but this income will not support the western level of debt … along the lines if your income is low then you can’t pay Rolls Royce debts.

Since this all started every single IMF economists so called financial model failed PERIOD, NO IFS, NO BUTS! The EU is just another name for the IMF (they are all members – this is the global elite) and this is for all you Germans just like the treaty of Versailles. You din’t pay that debt did you? Nah you kicked off WW2 instead.

Hey a +, Greece has not started WW3 yet! A result and Germany has still not paid its Versailles Treaty debt a fail! You would think Germans would reallise this crap and cancel the Greek debt down too manageable levels at least…. But no …

A sheep is still a dumb sheep be it English, German or Greek.

  10. A new drachma for an old dogma, what an eminently sensible idea. However, common sense can no longer be had for love, and especially not for money – it simply wasn’t reptilian enough and was easily swallowed up by cayman sense. A dangerous beast, the allegory..

  13. Paul Mason on Channel 4 news tonight mentioned that Potami had been asked by top EU officials “When can you form a new pro-EU government?” He added that Potami had only got 6% in the elections and opined that with this sort of thing happening, each hour would produce a further 1% of Greeks deciding that leaving the Euro is a good idea. Let’s hope he’s right: this is an economic version of Munich 1938.

    Papa can you see me?
Papa can you tell my Why if the Eurozone is so great, her son’s and daughters are working (that’s a relief) for buttons OUTSIDE the Eurozone and flooding the UK, South America, Australia et al, and why the EU are telling lies about the millions of illegal immigrants flooding our borders….

The EU needs millions of desperate low paid illegal African and Arab immigrants (but how can they be illegal when EU Naval ships physically delivered them to Europe’s shores?) to replace the millions of desperate Europeans who have fled the Eurozone for countries who can pay them more than $2.65 per day.

The EU isn’t saving Africans from the Med. It’s purposefully importing them to replace the millions of Europeans who have fled the Eurozone.
